Spreca Farm continues to invest in new projects. These are related to fruit and vegetable farming and processing, renewable energy project (biogas plant), greenhouse construction project, humus production plant project as well as goat dairy farm project with capacity of 4.500 head, which is to be the largest project in B&H.
Farm’s intention is to construct a plant for biogas producti on for which various raw materials, such as animal manure, corn silage and other agricultural products are used. The plant’s capacity of 600 kW in the first phase is successively to be upgraded to 1.2 MW in future. In terms of emission of CO2, methane and other harmful gases, biogas plant plays an enormous role.
Its clean energy is gained without any polluti on and environmental impacts. The electricity produced is to be distributed through the national distribution network, while the surplus of the thermal energy can be used for heating of farm and greenhouse, as well as for other farm needs.
Greenhouse producti on is an important and fast growing component of agricultural industry in the developing countries. Its producti on in Bosnia and Herzegovina, although sti ll in the process of gaining intensive forms, is increasing signifi cantly. The market requirements for fresh organic vegetables and its availability throughout all seasons of the year are also increasing.
The Farm “Spreča” plan is to invest to modern greenhouses covering the area of 20.000 m2, with investment worth over 2, 5 million Euros. The heating of the greenhouses will be partially provided out of the biogas thermal energy system by cooling biogas generators.
The raising of orchards on the “Spreča” farm requires an intensive and modern fruit production system that involves advanced agro and management practices with the main aim of qualitative and quantitative increase of fruit production in the Tuzla region.
This is especially important for the municipalities of Kalesija and Živinice as the extraordinarily fertile ground is perfect for development of fruit growing. 10,000 seedlings have already been planted on the surface of 50.000m2, and ongoing plan is to plant a total of 45,000 seedlings or 22 acres.
